I’m guessing that a large percentage of our readers are news junkies who (happily or not) consume tons of content from various sources that they are perfectly capable of picking for themselves, thank you very much.
An equally large percentage are those who are only tuning in here for the spiritual stuff and have concluded that it’s safer to screen out the news and the world out there, period.
Then there are those of us who try to stay informed but also keep ourselves safe and sane at the same time. Maybe I’m only talking about myself. Is this thing on?
Anyway, here’s what I do:
- I breathe, meditate, and pray before and after consuming news
- I avoid cable news (but sometimes can’t resist it)
- I don’t randomly click on social media or YouTube videos. I like to read opinions or columns by people I trust. And, I subscribe to those columns so that they come to me (and I don’t have to search for them). I also subscribe to news round-up services that I trust, where they will collect for me what I need.
