according to colin tipping, the creator of “radical forgiveness,” regular forgiveness that many of us are familiar with from christian culture is basically i’m going to forgive you even though you did a terrible wrong thing that should never have happened. “radical forgiveness” says that even though it hurt terribly and even though it may have been a violation of human (moral) law, at the level of the soul, nothing has gone wrong. indeed, this event may have come precisely to give my soul an experience or to teach it something that it came here to learn.
as someone who has used colin tipping’s work for years, i can attest that some of the greatest shifts i have had have come from using his free radical forgiveness worksheets. i don’t recommend doing them alone the first time. it is better to have read at least one of his books (you can buy this here at “bookshop.org” which buys from real local bookshops) or to take a workshop from a trained facilitator. the “radical forgiveness process” is an intense one.
there are lots of great inexpensive products that would be fabulous for any extra housebound time you have. online guided forgiveness for self, parents, money—all of it very straightforward and all of it works.
one of the aspects of his program that i love is that there are tons of off ramps. every step of the way you can just say “nope, not there yet.” you don’t have to pretend to be willing to see something different before you are. yet, i have found that just assessing where i’m at with an old wound is useful. often just saying i am not willing, or skeptical or willing to be willing cracks the door a tiny bit for the sunlight of the spirit to shine through.
in the end, radical forgiveness is really an invitation to see any situation from the level of spirit or christ consciousness rather than human consciousness. it is an audacious invitation to freedom.
i plan to sit down and fill one out on covid-19, the “leadership” in washington and my anger and disappointment at the democratic party too. it all works. this isn’t just for relatives lol.
